AEG Power Solutions has been selected to provide power supply solution for a 100 MW electrolysis plant in Germany. The plant will produce around 9.000 tons of green hydrogen annually which will be used in steel production process.

The hydrogen production system is a modular scalable plant. The power supply solution provided by AEG Power Solutions comprises transformer rectifier systems, with a total footprint of less than 30sqm per 5 MW dc supply unit.

The AEG Power Solutions team and products have been chosen for several key reasons. The DC-3 rectifier, efficient in partial load for using intermittent renewable energy sources, combines IGBT and Thyristor & Diode technology for low THDi, high power factor, grid compliance without extra filters, and low DC ripple, meeting electrolyzer manufacturers’ requirements.

Additionally, the customer recognized the extensive expertise of AEG Power Solutions Energy Transition team, underlined by a proven track record with excellent references, particularly on small to mid-size projects, demonstrating their ability to deliver quality outcomes.
