– Very compact housing for a highly reliable rectifier charger
– Options based on an easy plug-in concept to facilitate customization
Zwanenburg, The Netherlands, May 28, 2020 – AEG Power Solutions, a global provider of AC & DC power supply systems and solutions for all types of critical and demanding applications, announced today the launch of the “TD” version of its renown Protect RCS TPRe series, an extension of the range optimized for applications linked to transmission and distribution of electricity. To fit most of market requirements, some options have been designed as specific plug-ins which can be ordered separately and enhance the versatility of the system.
The Protect RCS TPRe TD has been developed to offer an optimized and economic power protection in a more compact housing, simplifying handling and maintenance. The system provides high reliability power supply and battery charging capability. Based on the RCS TPRe proven technology, the “TD” version is a thyristor-controlled premium rectifier battery charger suitable for charging nickel-cadmium or lead-acid batteries while supplying DC loads. It is suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions.
The rectifier is fitted inside a very compact cabinet and can be equipped with optional electrical and mechanical items in order to comply with most of the T&D specifications. It can also be connected to an inverter in order to deliver a safe AC supply. The cabinet is floor mounted and can be easily customized to meet specific environmental requirements. The batteries are mounted in freestanding racks or cabinets.
Protect RCS TPRe TD is offered preconfigured with some of the most commonly requested features built-in as standard, such as halogen free wires and cables, common fault remote alarm, or tropicalized control electronic boards.
To provide the exact solution for each application, the standard system can be enhanced with additional options already integrated into standard drawing packages and user documentation. The versatility of the system has been optimized by design: in addition to the factory implemented features, some options are based on plug-in concept. They can be ordered separately, delivered as separate kits and easily added to the system by downloading documentation and instruction directly online.
The Protect RCS TPRe TD is part of a series, which already has years of proven track record in the field. “AEG Power Solutions has decades of experience in securing power for applications in electricity generation as well as in its transport and distribution. The “TD” version of our Protect RCS TPRe reflects our in-depth knowledge of applications in transmission and distribution such as High Voltage substations requirements for highly reliable backup, minimized size, easy maintenance, and optimized total cost of ownership,” explains Pierre Larue Product manager DC products and solutions. “One of the main characteristics of the system is the simplified customization with the options available as plug-ins. This concept allows to shorten delivery time and enhances the flexibility of the charger.”
Protect RCS TPRe TD systems are available and can be sourced from local AEG Power Solution distributor or directly via one of the company’s entities.
