Thyrobox MVR Voltage control in the Medium Voltage Grid

The increasing volume of regenerative power fed from photovoltaic systems, wind farms and biogas plants cause enormous voltage fluctuations, particularly in rural medium voltage networks supplied over long distances and low loads. Extending the supply network with additional underground or overhead power lines is extremely costly, and requires extensive planning and approval procedures. Faster, easier, and significantly less costly is a implementation of the medium voltage linear regulator Thyrobox MVR. The patented VSC technology reduces harmonic current emission. Thyrobox MVR is suitable for capacitive and inductive load flow. It is a turnkey solution with integrated medium voltage switchgear, and its compact design fits into a 30 foot ISO container. Thyrobox MVR works completely independently, requiring no external intervention; intervention is, however, optionally available via a communication connection to a control centre.
