Application

Power Generation

AEG Power Solutions was selected to provide power supply for two turnkey co-generation plants in Altamira and Bajío, Mexico, being built by the Tamoin engineering firm for Iberdrola, a Spanish multinational electric utility company. The projects have a combined generation capacity of approximately 100 megawatts (MW), the equivalent power needed to supply approximately 500,000 Mexican homes.

The 3 phase output UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems Protect 8 have been provided to equip both facilities.

The Altamira co-generation plant includes gas turbines and condensing steam turbines with two extractions. A total of 60 megawatts (MW) of power are generated, broken down into 51 MW of power supplied by the gas turbine group and 9 MW supplied by a condensing steam turbine with low and medium pressure extractions.

Iberdrola's co-generation plant in Bajío in the city of San Juan del Río, Querétaro, is also a combined cycle plant with gas and condensing steam turbines with medium pressure extraction. The plant, located in an industrial complex, is generating up to 54.2 megawatts (MW) of power.
