Zwanenburg, The Netherlands – May 5, 2025:  AEG Power Solutions, a global provider of AC & DC power supply systems and solutions for critical and demanding applications, has been awarded an 4-year Framework Agreement by N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie to deliver its Protect 8 PLUS UPS systems with Sodium Metal Chloride (SMC) batteries. The contract plays a strategic role in the development of the Netherlands’ national hydrogen infrastructure.

The agreement includes the delivery, engineering, installation, commissioning, and long-term maintenance of approximately 150 high-reliability uninterruptible power supply systems – 1-phase and 3-phase Protect 8 PLUS UPS systems with Sodium Metal Chloride (SMC) batteries. These systems will provide secure power for Gasunie’s metering & regulation stations (M&R), mingle stations (MS), and future hydrogen delivery stations (HDS), ensuring operational continuity for critical hydrogen transport infrastructure.

This project supports Gasunie’s mission to enable large-scale green hydrogen transport across the Netherlands by repurposing existing natural gas infrastructure. AEG Power Solutions’ technology was selected not only for its technical excellence but also for its proven reliability, compliance with the highest safety standards, and support for long-term sustainability goals.
